The Bunker Ball Golf Wrap Up, January 2026 Edition

The Bunker Ball Golf Wrap Up, January 2026 Edition

We are back!

January has kicked off feeling fresh after the Christmas break (even if it did rain on Christmas Day) Good old Melbourne doing its thing, four seasons in one day never disappoints.

We returned to a heap of orders waiting for us, so first up, thank you for your patience while we worked through everything. The support over the break was unreal and it is always a good problem to have when you come back to a full packing table. Every order of golf gear, headcovers and accessories going out to golfers around Australia genuinely means a lot to us.

New Year, New Brands

One of our big focuses for 2026 is simple - more cool brands.

We want Bunker Ball to keep growing as a go to spot for unique golf gear in Australia. That means adding fresh products, interesting brands and gear that stands out from the usual big box options. We are already working on a few things behind the scenes, so stay tuned over the next couple of months!

Most Popular This Month

January has been all about golf shafts.

Driver shafts, fairway wood shafts and hybrid shafts have all been selling well across the board.

It has been a proper surge. Now, whether that means everyone found a new swing over the holidays and decided they needed something heavier or stiffer, or whether a few clubs met their end after a frustrating back nine, we will not ask too many questions. Either way, if golf was played, that is a win.

If you are looking to upgrade your driver shaft or dial in your woods and hybrids, it is one of the easiest ways to completely change the feel and performance of your setup without buying a whole new club.

Fun Golf Fact

Ever wondered why golf balls have dimples? The dimples on a golf ball make it fly almost twice as far as a completely smooth ball.

Back in the early days of golf, players noticed that older, scuffed up balls actually travelled further than brand new smooth ones. That discovery led manufacturers to intentionally add patterns to the surface. Today, most golf balls have between 300 and 500 dimples. These are carefully engineered to reduce drag and increase lift.

The dimples create a thin turbulent layer of air around the ball, which helps it stay in the air longer and travel further. If you hit a completely smooth ball with a driver, it would fall out of the sky much earlier. So technically, the less smooth it looks, the better it performs.

Wrapping Up

January has been a strong start to the year. Plenty of golf being played, plenty of gear heading out the door and some exciting additions coming soon!

As always, thanks for backing Bunker Ball. If you are searching for quality golf shafts, headcovers or unique golf accessories in Australia, we are here for it. Here is to a big 2026 on and off the course.
